- SpryStep® Pediatric is designed to support children with mobility issues due to neurological, traumatic, or muscular conditions. It helps in lifting the foot during walking, reducing the risk of trips and falls by providing stability and energy return, aiding in a more natural walking pattern. The orthosis features a posterior spiral strut that amplifies energy return, making each step more efficient and reducing fatigue. Material selection and lightweight composite structure participate to gait optimization. Do not use for patients weighing > 60kg.
- Yes, SpryStep® Pediatric is designed to fit comfortably into most shoes, allowing you to maintain your usual footwear. We recommend wearing shoes which combine the following features: Reasonably strong heel cup stiffeners within the shoe: the back height of the shoe upper should be high enough to fully encapsulate the foot and the orthosis. Low heel height of <15mm. Shoe fastening system: self-adhesive attachments or laces.
Trainers or athletic shoes usually match this description and are the best type of shoe to introduce SpryStep® Pediatric usage with. - Yes, it can be used with your existing insoles for added comfort. Please take care to put your existing insole above the orthosis.
- Yes, the footplate (toe and medial side of footplate) and calf cuff sections of the orthosis can be trimmed to ensure a perfect fit for your foot size and shape. Strap can also be trimmed to ensure a quick closing by the patient. Be careful, it is not possible to heat-molded SpryStep® Pediatric.
- It is possible to order separately a spare-part kit with Pads & Strap.
